A pair of 1920s natural white fine cotton lawn French knickers or tap pants. Fine embroidered inset net motif detailing at leg hem. Exquisitely made (with possibly the narrowest neatest French seams I’ve ever seen ), apparently unworn, so in immaculate condition. 
The only adjustment needed for this extremely pretty extant garment was replacement of the narrow elastic in the waist casing which had completely lost its elasticity (unsurprising at 100 yrs old and given that elastics of the period were generally made of more perishable natural rubber fibres). 

All of the original antique garments we offer are very wearable ( with a certain amount of care owing to their age). 

The ingredients Please be aware that these unique pieces are genuine antique articles ( 100-150 yrs old) which have had a previous life, so consequently there may be the odd very minor smudge or mark to the surface. These in no way impinge on their beauty, and you can be sure that they do not compromise the integrity of the material. Our original antique garments are carefully selected, with only the most pleasing examples being offered in the online store.
Any area of actual damage or thinning is indicated in the description and is carefully repaired or strengthened as required, in a way that complements the beauty of the original garment. These should be seen as an enhancement to the garment, and a sign of the textile's previous life and history.

I have given the actual garment measurements below so you can ascertain for yourself how it will work with your own measurements. Remember to allow enough ease to allow the garment to sit pleasingly … these pieces are meant to be fairly loose fitting, so allow a generous amount of room over your particular body measurements

Maximum waist circumference with elastic at full stretch; 42” / 107 cms

Minimum waist circumference with elastic fully unstretched ; 26” / 66.5  cms

Maximum hip circumference; 50” / 128 cms

Length taken down outer side seam; 16.5” / 42.5 cms

 Care; This antique garment should be carefully hand washed, and should be dried naturally on the line before a gentle press with a warm iron. It’s preferable to use a liquid detergent designed for delicate fabrics, and don’t use a fabric softener.
