This whimsical tree is endemic to the Baja California Peninsula, with a small population in Sonora, Mexico. These trees thrive in dry, desert climates with hot, dry days and cool nights. Tolerating temperatures between 70F to 100F, and experiencing very little rainfall. Boojum trees can be found growing on well-draining hillsides, mesas, and alluvial planes ranging from sea-level to 4800ft in elevation. Individual trees have been recorded living up to 700 years!
