HYMOVIS® is indicated for the treatment of pain in osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee in patients who have failed to respond adequately to conservative non-pharmacologic therapy or simple analgesics (e.g., acetaminophen).

HYMOVIS® is intended to provide relief from your osteoarthritis knee pain. HYMOVIS® is a thick, gel-like solution that acts like a lubricant and shock absorber in the knee joint. HYMOVIS® injections may provide up to six months of relief from osteoarthritis knee pain.

Indications

• alleviates pain, stiffness, and swelling associated with joint inflammation that comes about as a result of osteoarthritis of the knee
• helps prevent progression of osteoarthritis, protecting against further joint damage and preserving mobility
• used when other first-line medications like pain medication, NSAIDs or physical therapy have not provided optimal symptomatic improvement

What are the features of this product?

• Proprietary process: Hymovis gel is manufactured without cross-linking, yet results in a highly viscoelastic product.

What is this product made of?

Hymovis is made of high molecular weight hyaluronic acid (8 mg/ml concentration), dissolved in physiologic saline, that has been processed to form a hydrogel, called HYADD4. The hydrogel is a result of a proprietary manufacturing process that does not involve cross-linking. When injected, the Hymovis product lubricates and cushions the joint, supplementing the function originally served by synovial fluid.
