Tea has an intense dry fruity notes like dried figs with a licorice undertone, and deep aftertaste. A 5g of tea leaf can brew up to 1 liter of tea.

Ma An Shan tea gives similar taste profile as Lao Ban Zhang tea

Ma An Shan is located in Zhenkang County, Lincang, Yunnan, near the border with Guo Gan in Myanmar. This area shares geological continuity with Guo Gan, characterized by yellowish soil rich in iron and alkaline minerals.

These soil conditions are the primary factor defining the character of Ma An Shan tea. The high mineral content contributes to a dense structure and a strong, lasting aftertaste.

For this reason, Ma An Shan is recognized within Lincang as a distinctive production area. In terms of structure, it shows similarities to Lao Ban Zhang in Bu Lang Shan, which is also known for tea produced from mineral-rich environments.

Ma An Shan ripe pu er tea gives a full bodied structure with a long lasting aftertaste. The profile is well rounded and rich, with a character reminiscent of dried dates, raisins, and dried figs.

This tea is made from raw pu er tea that has been precisely controlled during processing. As a result, there is no smokiness or burnt character, and no camphor related notes or associated roughness. Instead, it is defined by a sweet, dried fruit like character.

With further aging, the sweetness becomes more pronounced, and the fruity character may intensified.
