RF Shield® SCIF Barrier is a U.S.-manufactured solution engineered for secure environments that require reliable RF and EMI protection. Built with a tear-resistant woven polyethylene core and bonded between highly reflective aluminum layers, this FI-FOIL® barrier delivers exceptional structural strength and handling performance. Its multi-layered shielding system—featuring two outer layers of 99% pure aluminum foil, fiberglass reinforcement, and Kraft paper—has been tested by an NSA-approved TEMPEST facility and verified to meet or exceed shielding effectiveness requirements across 378 frequencies. Averaging 73 dB of attenuation, RF Shield® provides robust protection for SCIF construction and other high-security applications.
This advanced barrier is purpose-built to reduce electromagnetic interference, radio frequency intrusion, and signal leakage—critical concerns in SCIFs and other controlled environments. The reinforced aluminum composition enhances both shielding performance and durability during installation, making it suitable for government, defense, and commercial security projects that demand verified RF suppression.
RF Shield® combines strength, reliability, and ease of installation. Its woven polyethylene core helps prevent tears during handling, while the aluminum surfaces deliver consistent shielding performance once installed. When seams are sealed properly, the system maintains continuous coverage needed for secure-room integrity.
SCIF tape is required to maintain continuous shielding integrity. Most installations use 3" Aluminum SCIF Tape, and two rolls are recommended for each 500 sq. ft. roll of RF Shield® ordered. Some specifications may require 3M Conductive Adhesive SCIF Tape—always confirm project specifications or consult the architect before installation.
