L-com's premium flat TRD824FLAT-BLK-10F Category 8 rated, 25 to 40gig cable assembly is here for your fastest and highest capacity data applications. Built with Cat8 rated STP cable, the TRD824FLAT series can handle bandwidth of up to 2000MHz and is perfect for server room and data center usage. Since Category 8 has strict specifications for noise restriction, our TRD824FLAT-BLK cables use individually screened twisted pairs to provide maximum protection from data corrupting EMI and RFI while also reducing or eliminating all forms of crosstalk. The flat cable design is extremely flexible and fits tight spaces such as under carpets, doorways, ceilings and corners and it fits flush against any flat surface such as a floor, wall, cable tray or rack.

Our TRD824FLAT-BLK-10F is built with a durable CM rated PVC jacket. It is terminated with 50um gold plated RJ45 (8x8) male plug connectors. Over molded boots provide robust strain relief for the connectors and the shark fin style latch makes for easy disconnects. Special 28AWG slim (TRD828 series) assemblies are also available for space and weight limited installations as well as standard round cable in PVC and LSZH jackets for applications where cost effectiveness is paramount (see TRD824 or TRD824Z series).

Cat 8 cabling was designed for high-speed data centers where networking hardware like switches and servers are located in close proximity and require connection. They are typically used in Top-of-Rack (ToR), End-of-Row (EoR) or Middle-of-Row (MoR) topologies to deliver 10, 25 or 40gig performance. These cables can be used to replace more expensive and distance limited cables like QFSP+ and twinax DAC assemblies. Remember that Cat8 is also backwards compatible with older Ethernet standards so you can easily future proof your patch cables in 10gig or slower set-ups.
